Perfect Just the Way You Are
The theme for this month's Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge is "new." That was the perfect opportunity to break out my new Concord & 9th Best Banners set for a first run.
I made one of the banners my focal image. I die cut it twice, once from silver cardstock and once from craft foam, then carefully layered the two pieces. Once the pieces were adhered, I placed them on a black panel over a gold star die cut. Yes, I'm mixing metallics here, but I think it works! I stamped the "just the way you are" sentiment beneath the banner in silver ink, then heat embossed it for an extra pop. I debated for a long time about adding sequins (silver? gold? where? how many?) before deciding not to add any at all. The finished panel was adhered to a white card base. Had I thought ahead a bit more, I would have trimmed down the black panel a bit so I could have matted it on gold or silver cardstock before adhering it to the card base . . .
Materials Used:
Best Banners stamp set, Best Banners dies (Concord & 9th); Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Basic Black cardstock (Stampin' Up!); silver and gold papers (Target); star dies (Spellbinders); silver embossing powder (Hero Arts); craft foam

Nicely clean and simple, a design fit for a person of any gender and age. I can spend lots of time debating with myself too, to add or not to add, sometimes I think I should just make two or three cards at the same time and make one of each:)
