Purrr-fect Friend

Here's my card for this month's SugarPea Designs Mix It Up challenge. I paired the sketch with the shades of pink and love theme from the inspiration photo for this sweet design using SPD's Smitten Kitten stamp set.

Purrr-fect Friend card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from SugarPea Designs
I colored up one of the set's cat images using Copic markers, then used the matching die to cut out the colored image.  For the background, I cut a pair of pink circles, one from solid pink cardstock and another from dotted pink paper.  The circles were arranged on a piece of pale gray cardstock.  I stamped the set's "you're the purrr-fect friend" sentiment on a bright pink cardstock strip and placed the strip across the cardfront, overlapping part of the top circle.  The cat image was perched on top of the sentiment strip, using foam tape for dimension.  I added a trio of pink enamel hearts next to the cat as a sweet accent.  The finished panel was adhered to a coordinating bright pink card base.

Materials Used:
Smitten Kitten stamp set, Smitten Kitten dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Sweet Blush and Raspberry Fizz cardstock, Sweet Blush patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Grout Gray cardstock (My Favorite Things); circle dies (Spellbinders); Recollections pink enamel hearts (Michaels); foam tape

  1. This is very sweet! Love the different pinks and that sweet cat (although I thought you were more of a dog person! lol!) So glad to see you at SugarPea Designs, Lori!
