Go Get Carried Away

Here's my card for the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I created a simple scene using stamps and dies from Mama Elephant.

Go Get Carried Away card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Mama Elephant
I made the layout's center panel into a sky backdrop for the big balloon and one of the kids from the Carried Away set.  After coloring the images with Copic markers, I cut them out with the matching dies, then used foam tape to adhere them to the light blue "sky" I placed at the center of a darker blue card base.  To fill in the sky, I die cut a shimmery white cloud using the Sunday Stroll dies and tucked it underneath the big balloon.  The birthday sentiment was stamped on white cardstock, then matted on a contrasting red strip.  I put it in place between the two images to complete the design.

Materials Used:
Carried Away stamp set, Carried Away and Sunday Stroll dies (Mama Elephant); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Brocade Blue, Real Red, and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Spring Rain cardstock (Papertrey Ink); foam tape

  1. Really cute card, Lori. I love the design with the sentiment between the boy and balloon. Having the cloud behind the balloon really adds depth. Your coloring is great. Have a wonderful day!
