Tropical Thanks So Much
I created a summery, tropical themed design for this month's Paper Smooches anything goes themed challenge. The design gave me the opportunity to try out some distress oxides for the first time--fun!
I used the distress oxides along with some distress inks to create the colorful pineapples. After mixing the ink colors, I stamped the pineapple image from the Pineapple Crush set on the inked panel, then die cut the stamped images. I used foam tape to arrange the images on a gold die cut circle, then adhered the circle to an avocado cardstock panel.
For the sentiment, I die cut the PS Thanks Word 2 die from kraft cardstock and craft foam. After layering the two pieces for dimension, I adhered them to the panel, overlapping the gold circle just a bit. The "so much" sentiment from the Pineapple Crush set was stamped just beneath the die cut word. A trio of gold glitter enamel dots arranged around the pineapples added a festive, sparkly touch to the design. The finished panel was adhered to a coordinating yellow card base.
Materials Used:
Pineapple Crush stamp set, Pineapple Crush Icons and Thanks Word 2 dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Mustard Seed, Shabby Shutters, and Tea Dye distress inks and Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint distress oxides (Ranger); Ripe Avocado and Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); gold paper (Target); circle die (Spellbinders); gold glitter enamel dots (Eyelet Outlet); craft foam; foam tape
