Pastel Pencil Inspired

Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge.  I combined the sketch along with some elements from the photo, including the pastel colors and the pencils, to put together my card.

Best Teacher Ever card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from SugarPea Designs
I started out by using a stencil to create my own tone on tone patterned paper.  I used Broken China distress oxide and an ink applicator on aqua cardstock.  So pretty!  I adhered the stenciled panel to the right edge of a card base, then added a curved edge pink panel to the left edge, using foam tape for dimension.  The stitching detail along the curve adds interest and helps to set off the panel.

For the sentiment, I used the Teacher die set from SugarPea Designs to die cut the word "teacher" from both silver cardstock and craft foam.  After layering the two die cut pieces for dimension, I adhered them to the cardfront.  I used SPD's Notebook Journal Card die and a bunch of cardstock scraps to create the pencil that I placed directly underneath the die cut word.  To finish the sentiment, I stamped the words "best" and "ever" above and below the die cut word and pencil.

Materials Used:
Sweet Sentiments-Teacher stamp set, Teacher and Notebook Journal Card dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Broken China distress oxide (Ranger); Insulation Pink cardstock, Jumbled Letters stencil, Die-namics Hit the Slopes dies (My Favorite Things); Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush, and Harvest Gold cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Recollections Silver cardstock (Michaels); craft foam; foam tape
