So Berry Sweet

Here's my card for this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  It's their 300th sketch--quite a milestone!

So Berry Sweet card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Reverse ConfettiI went with something summery for my design.  My focal image is the strawberry from Reverse Confetti's Berry Sweet set.  I created the berry with a mix of distress oxides on watercolor paper.  After the inks dried, I stamped the outline image and sentiment, then die cut the berry with the matching die.  The leaf was stamped with Peeled Paint distress oxide to get the same pigment-y look as the berry.

The backdrop for the berry came from my scrap pile.  I adhered a strip of green gingham patterned paper to a pink card base, then added a berry cardstock panel edged with a strip of cream trim to the right side.  The berry was placed on top, using foam tape for dimension.

Materials Used:
Berry Sweet stamp set, Berry Sweet dies (Reverse Confetti); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick, and Peeled Paint distress oxides (Ranger); Pink Lemonade cardstock (My Favorite Things); Berry Sorbet cardstock, Simply Chartreuse patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); cream trim (Hobby Lobby); foam tape
