Color Throwdown 459-For a Special Teacher
It's time for another Color Throwdown! Vickie is our hostess this week with a classic color combination--red, black, and white.
I created a clean and simple teacher themed card for the challenge. You'll be seeing a lot of clean and simple designs coming up as I work on balancing work and being back in school . . . Here, I let a big die cut word take center stage. I cut the word "teacher" from black cardstock and craft foam using a die from Papertrey Ink. After layering the die cut pieces for dimension, I adhered them to a white panel and stamped the "for a special" sentiment from PTI's Wonderful Words: Teacher stamp set above it. To accent the text, I used two PTI apple themed stamp sets and matching dies to create a pair of apples to adhere beneath the words. The finished panel was adhered to a red card base. Looking at the card again, I think it would have been more eye-catching if I'd done a chalkboard style design, reversing the black and white elements. Wish I'd thought of that first . . .
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD459. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd459 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our September guestie Tammy Hershberger.
