You're Spooktacular

Here's my card for this month's SugarPea Designs Mix It Up challenge. I combined the layout with elements from the inspiration photo to come up with this fun Halloween themed design.  SPD's Eek-a-Boo set is one of my favorite Halloween sets, so I knew I wanted to use the set's ghost image front and center on my card. The ghost was stamped in white pigment ink on vellum, then heat embossed.  I turned the embossed ghost image over, then used Copic markers on the back side to add a bit of color. 

After cutting the ghost out, I used some vellum friendly tape to position the ghost over a silver embossed spider web, stamped with the set's spider web image.  I stamped the set's "you're spooktacular" sentiment on an orange Flag Tags die cut and placed it just beneath the ghost.  A few silver sequins arranged around the ghost and sentiment added a final sparkly touch to the design.  The panel was matted on silver cardstock, then adhered to an orange card base.
