Happy St. Patty's Day

Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge. I combined a loose, twisted-around interpretation of the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo to create this St. Patrick's Day themed design.

Happy St. Patty's Day card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Reverse ConfettiI drew a hat template in the style of the hat in the inspiration photo on a scrap of white cardstock, playing around with a few versions before I came up with a shape and size I liked.  After tracing the hat on to green cardstock, I carefully cut it out by hand.  To dress it up, I added a black band with a shiny gold buckle before adhering the hat to the right edge of a mint green cardstock panel.  For the sentiment, I combined a few stamps from Reverse Confetti's Whole Lotta Happy set to get the "Happy St. Patty's Day" sentiment.  I stamped the words in gold, then heat embossed them in gold for a nice pop against the pale background.  I think it's actually supposed to be St. Paddy's Day and not "Patty's," but I couldn't find another version in my collection . . .  The finished panel was matted on a gold panel, then adhered to a contrasting black card base.
