Color Throwdown 497-Hey Chickie

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  I'm the challenge hostess this week and I've picked a summer and inspired color palette--coral, pale aqua, yellow, and green.

My card features an image I colored a few days ago as part of the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  The chick is from the Paper Smooches Chubby Chums stamp set--one of the early PS sets and still one of my favorites!  I colored up the chick with Copic markers and cut the colored image out by hand. It was adhered to an aqua pierced oval die cut with foam tape.  I stamped the set's "hey chickie" sentiment to the left of the image, stacking the words to better fit the oval shape.

The layout comes from the current challenge at Sunday Stamps.  The background for the image panel mixes two patterns--a tone on tone green chevron on the fishtail flag strip and a large scale polka dot pattern on the yellow panel.  After positioning the fishtail flag strip on the dotted paper, I wrapped the panel with aqua twine, securing it with a simple bow. The image panel was added on top.  I matted the dotted panel on coral cardstock, then adhered it to an aqua card base.
