Fab Friday Father's Day
Here's my card for the current Fab Friday challenge. I used the sketch to make a Father's Day design with lots of textured elements. I represented the layout's round shape with a pile of looped twine on a drab green cardstock panel. The kraft sentiment strip, from the SugarPea Designs Terrific Ties set, and the narrow strip of shiny gold and white striped washi tape help keep the loops secured in place. I accented the elements with a trio of brown enamel dots. After sponging around the edges of the green panel with some brown distress ink, I adhered the finished panel to a brown card base with green undertones.
Materials Used:
Terrific Ties stamp set (SugarPea Designs); Olive Grove ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Antique Linen distress ink (Ranger); Factory Green cardstock (My Favorite Things); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Soft Suede cardstock (Stampin' Up!); cream twine (Hemptique); brown enamel dots (Doodlebug Design); gold striped washi tape; foam tape

Oh, Lori - what a brilliant idea to use simple twine to address the circular shape of the sketch! You've kept it simple and manly, yet still creative and whimsical - great job! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
ReplyDeleteCool masculine card!
