It's time for another Color Throwdown--and it's a special one! We've reached our 500th challenge today! That's something to celebrate, isn't it?? Thanks to all of you for playing along with use every week. We've got a beautiful color combination from our hostess Wanda for this week's challenge--navy, white, blush, and gold. Pretty!
My card for this week is all stamping--no coloring, no die cutting, just classic stamping! I used images from the Patterned Polka Dot stamp set from The Stamp Market, stamping the various circles in all of the challenge colors on a white background. Layering the images and patterns added enough interest without a need for any dimension. I did do a teeny, tiny bit of heat embossing when I found that the gold dots didn't show too well on the navy circle. Adding some gold embossing powder and heat embossing fixed that easily. The "have a happy day" sentiment was stamped in navy on a blush cardstock strip and positioned between the clusters of circles.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD500. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd500 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our July Guestie Kathy Schweinfurth, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Lucie G.
