Like Curling Up with a Good Book
As a teacher--and a bookworm, too--I couldn't resist the new book themed Book Worm and Good Reads stamp sets from Mama Elephant! I used images from both of the sets on this card for the current Fusion challenge. I paired the layout with elements of the inspiration photo, including the color scheme and the book theme, for my design.
When I saw the photo, I knew the images and sentiments from these sets would be perfect for my card. I used images from the Book Worm set that I'd colored with Copic markers as part of last month's Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge and then cut out with my Scan 'n Cut (loving this machine!). After adhering a green gingham panel to a pale green card base, I arranged the images at the bottom, using foam tape to adhere the animal images on either side of the line of books. I stamped the friendship sentiment from the Good Reads stamp set on a green fishtail flag strip in black ink. I used the new VersaFine Clair ink--it may be my new favorite ink for stamping crisp, dark sentiments! The sentiment strip was adhered to the top of the gingham panel to finish the design.
Materials Used:
Book Worm and Good Reads stamp sets (Mama Elephant); Memento Tuxedo Black and VersaFine Clair Nocturne inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse cardstock, Simply Chartreuse patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); foam tape
