Sending a Birthday Song Your Way

Sending a Birthday Card Your Way card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
My friend's daughter is turning six later this month, so I knew I wanted to make her a sweet, girly birthday card.  I think this one based on the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge fits the bill perfectly!

I used one of the singers from the Friendship Rocks set as my focal image.  She was colored with Copic markers, then cut out with my Scan 'n Cut machine.  It doesn't show in the photo, but I added a coating of clear glitter to her skirt and microphone.  To make a background for the image, I used the In the Spotlight stencil and white pigment ink on a purple cardstock panel. The colored image and platform were positioned on the stenciled section using foam tape for dimension.  I stamped a few silver stars around the image, then adhered the panel to a silver cardstock mat. The set's birthday sentiment was stamped on the same purple cardstock and matted on silver, too.  I adhered the two pieces to a pink card base, leaving just a sliver of space between them.  Not a color combination I use often, but I think this one will be a hit with the recipient!

Materials Used:
Friendship Rocks stamp set, In the Spotlight stencil (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black, Delicata Silvery Shimmer, and Memento Luxe Wedding Dress inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Lovely Lady and Amethyst Allure cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Silver cardstock (Recollections); clear Sparkle glitter brush pen (Spectrum Noir); foam tape
