Spread Your Wings and Soar

Spread Your Wings and Soar card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Mama Elephant
Here's my card for the current challenge at The Paper Players.  I used the layout and some scraps from my scrap pile along with an image from Mama Elephant's She's So Lovely stamp set that I'd colored earlier this month as part of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge to put it together.

After cutting out the colored image with my Scan 'n Cut machine, I used foam tape to adhere it to a light aqua square wit some shimmery white stitched "clouds" along the top for a sky-like look.  The "spread your wings and soar" sentiment was stamped beneath the image.  I matted the panel on darker aqua cardstock, then adhered it to an aqua cardstock panel over a pair of coordinating patterned paper strips fished from my scraps.  They're from different companies, but the prints work nicely together.  The finished panel was adhered to a dark aqua card base.

Materials Used:
She's So Lovely stamp set, Landscape Trio dies (Mama Elephant); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Hawaiian Shores and Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Crystal Stardust cardstock (The Papercut); Aqua Screen designer paper (Recollections); foam tape

  1. Such a sweet image, so prettily coloured. I like the way you've used pale blue as a neutral and popped it with a darker blue. Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players this week.
