Sending Hugs and Kisses
Here's my card for the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I went with a simple love themed design using some older patterned paper along with stamps and dies from SugarPea Designs.
I covered a pink card base with a piece of patterned paper with a teeny tiny heart in the pattern, then added a wide pink panel edged with red strips for contrast on top. The "sending hugs and kisses" sentiment from the Sending Sentiments stamp set was stamped on the panel in red pigment ink. Instead of using a strip of cardstock or patterned paper along the left side of the cardfront, I used red grosgrain ribbon from my scrap pile. The ribbon adds a bit of contrasting texture to the design. I accented the sentiment with a pair of tiny envelopes die cut with SPD's Special Delivery Accents dies. The envelopes are the perfect embellishment for the sentiment!
Materials Used:
Sending Sentiments stamp set, Special Delivery Accents dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Luxe Love Letter ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Pink Pirouette and Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Yours Truly 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); foam tape
