CAS Colours & Sketches-Challenge #321
I am so excited to be joining the team at CAS Colours & Sketches as a guest designer for the month of May! The second challenge of the month is a great sketch. The layout's triangular panels draw your eye to the focal image, whatever shape you choose!
I chose a fun gem shape from Concord & 9th for my focal image. To make my gem extra sparkly, I cut the shape from both silver cardstock and silver glitter cardstock. I layered the silver outline over the glittery background, then used foam tape to adhere the piece to a black cardstock panel with a pair of narrow silver triangles arranged at the left side. For the sentiment, I used the "you're a gem" die to cut the words out of the black panel. The panel was matted on silver cardstock, which filled in the negative space of the letters. I was careful to save the "inside" pieces for the u, r, and a so that I could position them in the letters for a finished look once the mat was in place. I layered the finished panel on a black card base for a clean, sophisticated finish.
Be sure to stop by the CAS Colours & Sketches blog for all the details on the challenge and more inspiration!
Materials Used:
