You Are My Hero

You Are My Hero card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
Here's my card for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  After making a bunch of Mother's Day cards, I thought I'd switch things up and make a masculine design (or two).  For this one, I started out with a houndstooth patterned paper panel adhered to a kraft card base.  I used a stitched banner die to cut a pair of wide cream fishtail flag panels. The "you are my hero" sentiment was stamped on the longer panel in blue ink.  For contrast, I stamped a row of red stars above and below the text before adhering the panel to the cardfront.  To add interest to the smaller panel, I knotted a piece of blue grosgrain ribbon, then wrapped it around the middle of the panel before adhering it to the bottom of the cardfront.

Materials Used:
For the Boys stamp set, Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Nautical Blue and Lady Bug inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Awesome 6x6 paper pad (Simple Stories); grosgrain ribbon (Papertrey Ink)
