More for Mother's Day
Here's my card for the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. With Mother's Day coming up next week, I'm working on adding a few more Mother's Day cards to my stash and this sketch was perfect for doing just that!
For my focal image, I created a floral cluster using WPlus9's Spring Blooms stamp set. After stamping the three part image, I carefully fussy cut around the edges of the stamped image, then set it aside to build the rest of the card. I adhered an angled razzleberry panel to the top of a pale pink card base using foam tape to set the darker panel off a bit. The floral image was adhered to the angled part of the dark panel using more foam tape. I originally planned to stamp the sentiment on the pale pink, but didn't like how it looked when I tried it out on a Stamp-a-ma-jig positioning sheet (my go-to for "auditioning" sentiment placement). I ended up with the sentiment from the Wishing You Sentiments stamp set positioned to the right of the flowers, stamped in white pigment ink and heat embossed in white to pop against the dark background. A trio of pink sequins arranged around the floral cluster completed the design.
Materials Used:
Spring Blooms and Wishing You Sentiments stamp sets (WPlus9); Memento Luxe Pistachio, Angel Pink, Lilac Posies, and Wedding Dress inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette cardstock (Stampin' Up!); pink sequins; foam tape
