It's time for another Color Throwdown! Amy Rohl is our hostess this week with an earthy color combination-black, red, green, and kraft.
I paired the colors with the current challenge at The Paper Players for this teacher themed design. I used the chalkboard from Lawn Fawn's A Good Apple stamp set as my focal image. The chalkboard was colored with Copic markers and cut out with the matching die. The "thanks" sentiment was stamped on the center of the image in white pigment ink, then heat embossed for a chalk-like look. I adhered the image to a red cardstock panel with a wide kraft strip along the left side. After matting it on contrasting black cardstock, the red panel was adhered to a kraft card base. To finish the sentiment, I stamped the script "for inspiring me" beneath the chalkboard. I colored up and cut out the set's small apple image and added it to the chalkboard base with foam tape to finish the design. If you look closely, you can see the teeny, tiny bit of green I used to color in the leaf on the apple!
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD554. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd55 4and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, July's Guest Designer, Susie Moore, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Hannelie Bester.

What a fabulous card, Lori! I love the color scheme. These colors are striking together. I am sure a teacher is going to be so appreciative of this card and its sentiment. Thank you for sharing with The Paper Players!
