You Rocked It
Here's my card for the current SugarPea Designs Mix It Up challenge. I paired the sketch with elements of the inspiration photo to put together a congratulatory themed design.
I started out with a light blue card base to go with the blue tones from the inspiration photo. I die cut an old school record album and record player arm using the Greatest Hits dies and arranged them on the card base. The "you rocked it" sentiment from the coordinating Greatest Hits stamp set was stamped in black ink on a darker blue pierced fishtail flag strip cut with a die from the Gift Tag die set. I wanted to bring in a feeling of movement like you get from the shape of the wave in the inspiration photo, so I arranged clusters of silver stars above and below the album. The stars add to the celebratory feel of the design.
Materials Used:
Greatest Hits stamp set, Greatest Hits and Gift Tag dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, and Basic Black cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Silver cardstock (Recollections); foam tape
