Thanks for Being a Great Teacher

Thanks for Being a Great Teacher card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Newton's Nook Designs
Here's my card for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I created a teacher themed design using stamps from Newton's Nook Designs and an alphabet stencil.

I started out by stenciling the letters on to a light blue card base with white pigment ink and an ink blending brush. While the stenciled letters dried, I colored up the teacher and chalkboard image from the Classy Teachers stamp set.  For the sentiment, I stamped "thanks" on the chalkboard in white pigment ink and heat embossed the text.  The embossing makes the text stand out from the colored background like chalk would.  The colored image was adhered over the stenciled background using foam tape.  I finished the sentiment by stamping "for being a great teacher" at the bottom of the stenciling in red ink.

Materials Used:
Classy Teachers stamp set (Newton's Nook Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black and Lady Bug inks, Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Bashful Blue cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Jumbled Letters stencil (My Favorite Things); Snow embossing powder (Recollections); foam tape
