The theme for this month's
My Favorite Things Birthday Project is birthday bouquets. I used the pretty Flower Silhouettes stamp set and an emboss resist technique to create this simple birthday design for the challenge.
I used sticky notes to block off a section at the top of the white card base, then stamped the floral silhouette images in the space using white pigment ink. The images were embossed with white embossing powder that I managed to spill all over my desk, shorts, and chair in the process... I used an ink blending brush to softly apply some light purple distress ink to the panel. The ink was applied with a slightly heavier hand near the bottom of the images and faded out near the top. I adhered a narrow strip of purple cardstock at the bottom of the embossed and inked section, then stamped a birthday sentiment from the new Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set beneath the cardstock strip in black ink to finish the card.
