Thanks Teacher

This month's Paper Smooches challenge theme has not one but two options--school and/or words.  I incorporated both into this school themed design.

Thanks Teacher card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper Smooches
I colored up two traditional school icons--an apple (from the Fruitastic stamp set, minus the cute face) and a bookworm from the Smarty Pants set--with Copic markers and cut out the colored images with the coordinating dies.  I used foam tape to adhere the images to the bottom of a notebook paper patterned panel.  For the sentiment, I used the Thanks 2 die to cut the word "thanks" from black cardstock and from craft foam.  I layered the two pieces for dimension, then adhered them to the patterned paper panel. The word "teacher" from the "thanks teacher" sentiment in the Smarty Pants stamp set was stamped just beneath the die cut word.  To go with the school theme, I added a single staple to the upper right side of the patterned paper panel.  The patterned panel was matted on red cardstock for contrast.  A looped piece of red dotted grosgrain ribbon was adhered beneath the layered panel before it was adhered to a kraft card base.

Materials Used:
Fruitastic and Smarty Pants stamp sets, Fruitastic, Smarty Pants and Thanks 2 dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Red Punch cardstock (Recollections); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); patterned paper (October Afternoon); red dotted grosgrain ribbon; stapler; foam tape
