Happier Than a Bird with a French Fry
Here's my card for the current challenge at The Paper Players. I combined two bird themed stamp sets from WPlus9 for my card.
The bird I used on the focal image panel is from the Happy Birds stamp set. It was colored with Copic markers and cut out with the matching die. I made a background for it from a piece of aqua dotted patterned paper with a branch from the All Year Cheer set adhered along the bottom third. The bird was positioned at the end of the branch using foam tape for dimension. To balance out the panel, I added a pair of die cut shimmery white clouds to the top right side of the panel. After matting the dotted panel on a kraft circle, I adhered it to an aqua card base over a wide strip of red cardstock. The "you make me happier than a bird with a French fry" sentiment was stamped at the bottom of the red strip. I tucked a narrow kraft cardstock strip under the bottom edge of the red panel to bring in a bit more of the kraft color and finish the design.
Materials Used:
Happy Birds and All Year Cheer stamp sets, Happy Birds and All Year Cheer dies (WPlus9); Memento Tuxedo Black and Rich Cocoa inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Aqua Mist and Kraft cardstock, Aqua Mist patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Red Punch cardstock (Recollections); Crystal Stardream cardstock (The Paper Cut); circle dies (Spellbinders); foam tape

Love your cute little bird Lori which is perfectly coloured. The sentiment is too funny! Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little bird, Lori and you colored it beautifully. I love the polka dot "sky" behind him and those rust colors really pop against the blue. Great take on the sketch and so glad you joined us at the Players this week
