Takes a Hand, Opens a Mind, Touches a Heart

Takes a Hand, Opens a Mind, Touches a Heart card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from SugarPea Designs
Here's my card for the current challenge at Sunday Stamps. While there's still almost a month until school starts around here, it's not too early to make teacher themed cards!  This one uses stamps and dies from SugarPea Designs.  I used three teardrop shaped ink pads to ink the cute apple image from the Sweet Sentiments-Teacher stamp set and stamped the image three times on a strip of white cardstock.  After matting the image on black cardstock, I adhered it to a kraft panel, leaving room for the sentiment beneath it. I die cut the word "teacher" three times, twice from red cardstock and once from black.  I layered the red pieces, then adhered the black piece on the back, offsetting it slightly for a shadow-like look, then adhered it to the kraft panel.  I matted the kraft piece on black cardstock, then adhered it to a red card base with a strip of letter patterned paper along the left side.

Materials Used:
Sweet Sentiments-Teacher stamp set, Teacher dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Lady Bug, Bamboo Leaves, Rich Cocoa, and Tuxedo Black inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Red Punch cardstock (Recollections); Basic Black cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Back to School 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park)
