Color Throwdown 560-Thank You for Helping Me Grow

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Wanda is our hostess this week with a great mix of colors--red, yellow, brown, and green.  I paired the colors with the current challenge at Fab Friday to create a teacher themed thank you card.

My apple was created with the Apple Shaker dies from Lil' Inker Designs.  I assembled the apple pieces and used foam tape to adhere it to a piece of yellow patterned paper over narrow strips of green and brown cardstock fished out of my scrap piles.  I stamped the "thank you for helping me grow" sentiment from LID's Apple of My Eye stamp set on the green strip in black ink.  The apple was accented with a small piece of knotted red stitched grosgrain ribbon.
