Color Throwdown 565-The Beauty of the Season
It's time for another Color Throwdown! Jodi is our hostess this week with a great mix of colors--gray, lavender, and black. Even though these colors would be perfect for a spooky and seasonal Halloween design, I went in a different direction, pairing the colors with the current sketch from TGIF Challenges to create a wintery card.
I used a set of snowflake dies from Lil' Inker Designs to cut a trio of snowflakes from gray cardstock. The flakes were adhered to the right side of a lavender cardstock panel. For extra sparkle, I placed a self-adhesive clear crystal at the center of each flake. I filled in some of the empty space above and below the flakes with three silver glitter enamel dots, two at the bottom and one at the top. The "enjoy the beauty of the season" sentiment from LID's Winter Greetings stamp set was stamped to the left of the flakes in black ink. I adhered the finished panel to a gray card base to complete the design.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD565. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd565 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our October Guestie Rosemary Dennis.
