A Holly Jolly Christmas

Here's my card for the current Mix it Up Challenge at SugarPea Designs.  I combined the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo (holiday theme and color scheme) for this holiday design in a somewhat non-traditional color scheme.

Holly Jolly Christmas card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from SugarPea Designs
My focal image is one of the elves from the Merry Makers stamp set. I colored him up with Copic markers before cutting out the colored image with the coordinating die.  The image was adhered to the lower left corner of a gold paper panel using foam tape for dimension.  After matting the gold paper on a navy cardstock panel, I adhered it to a green card base.  The set's "have your elf a holly jolly Christmas" sentiment was stamped at the bottom of the cardfront in black ink.  A trio of gold glitter enamel dots scattered around the gold panel completed the festive design.

Materials Used:
Merry Makers stamp set, Merry Makers dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Garden Green cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Dark Indigo cardstock (Papertrey Ink); gold paper (Target); gold glitter enamel dots (Eyelet Outlet); foam tape
