Home Sweet Home
The theme for the current Paper Players challenge is "new." One of my good friends recently moved into a new home, so I created a new home card for her based on the challenge.
I used the Home Sweet Home die from SugarPea Designs as my focal image. I cut the die from red and aqua cardstock as well as craft foam. After doing a little trimming, I arranged the cardstock pieces on the foam so that the house that represents the letter "o" was red to contrast with the aqua for the rest of the letters. The dimensional word was adhered to the top third of a cream card base. I stamped the "congratulations on your new" sentiment from SPD's Sweet Sentiments-Home set just above the word in red ink. The rest of the cardfront was covered by a retro patterned paper from an October Afternoon paper pad. I used strips of aqua and red cardstock to hide the seam between the patterned paper and the cardfront. I thought about wrapping some ribbon around the card instead of adding the narrow red cardstock strip, but in the end, I went with the simple cardstock element instead.
Materials Used:
Sweet Sentiments-Home stamp set, Home Sweet Home die (SugarPea Designs); Memento Lady Bug ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); The Thrift Shop 8x8 paper pad (October Afternoon); craft foam
