Buffalo Plaid Love

Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge.  I paired the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo (color scheme, plaid, heart shape) to come up with this love themed design.

Sending Love card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from SugarPea Designs
I used the large frame die from the SugarPea Designs Chatterbox Journal Card set to create my black stitched panel, removing the little "divot" that makes the shape into a speech bubble so it was just a plain, ordinary rectangle.  The stitched panel was adhered to the top of a red buffalo plaid patterned paper panel.  The paper is from a Christmas themed paper pad--love when I can stretch my seasonal supplies into other holidays!  I used SPD's Special Delivery Accessories dies and Heart Journal Card dies to cut the envelope and heart elements.  They were positioned at the lower right side of the black panel using foam tape for dimension.  I accented them with a trio of black enamel dots.  For the sentiment, I stamped "sending" from the Chatterbox Sentiments stamp set in watermark ink on the black panel, then heat embossed it with some rarely used red embossing powder.  The die cut "love" created with one of the dies from the Heart Journal Card die set was positioned beneath the stamped word to finish the sentiment. The plaid panel was adhered to a contrasting black card base to complete the design.

Materials Used:
Chatterbox Sentiments stamp set, Chatterbox Journal Card, Heart Journal Card, and Special Delivery dies (SugarPea Designs); Versamark ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Red Punch cardstock, Christmas Plaids 6x6 paper pad, Ruby embossing powder (Recollections); black enamel dots (Doodlebug Design); foam tape
