Hello Sunshine

The theme for the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge is "bring it back."  For my card, I brought back two oldies but goodies--Lawn Fawn's Spring Showers dies and a button.  I used to use buttons on my cards all the time, but it's something I haven't done in a while.

Hello Sunshine card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn
My sky background was created with some watered down distress inks pressed on to a watercolor paper panel.  While the panel dried, I made my die cuts to fill out the sky.  Button suns were something I used to add to my cards a lot, so I did that here, making a button the center of the yellow sun made with one of the Spring Showers dies.  The button was threaded with a bit of yellow baker's twine that I tied in a bow before putting the button on to the die cut.  I placed the sun onto the watercolor background, then added a pair of shimmery white die cut clouds using foam tape for dimension.  The "hello sunshine" sentiment from the coordinating Hello Sunshine stamp set was stamped beneath the clouds in darker blue ink.  I arranged a trio of white glitter enamel dots around the clouds and sun as an accent.  The finished panel was adhered to a teal card base.

Materials Used:
Hello Sunshine stamp set, Spring Showers dies (Lawn Fawn); Mermaid Lagoon, Tumbled Glass, and Peacock Feathers distress inks (Ranger); Cookie Monster ink (Taylored Expressions); Harvest Gold and Tropical Teal cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Crystal Stardream cardstock (The Paper Cut); yellow twine (The Twinery); white glitter enamel dots (Eyelet Outlet); yellow button; foam tape
