Birthday Wishes and Puppy Dog Kisses

Here's my card for the current heart themed Birthday Project challenge at My Favorite Things.  The hearts are a tiny but important element in my dog-themed birthday design!

Birthday Wishes and Puppy Dog Kisses card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
The focal image is from the Dog-Gone Awesome stamp set.  I colored up the cute pup with Copic markers, then used my Scan 'n Cut machine to cut out the colored image.  For the background, I cut a rounded banner shape from aqua dotted patterned paper.  I placed the panel on a cheery yellow card base, then added a strip of green grass created with a border punch along the bottom of the die cut piece to ground the image before placing the pup on top with foam tape.  I stamped the "birthday wishes and puppy dog kisses" sentiment from the Top Dog stamp set on the green strip beneath the dog's feet in black ink.  The trio of tiny hearts from the Coffee Date stamp set was stamped to the left of the dog image in red pigment ink to finish the design.

Materials Used:
Dog-gone Awesome, Top Dog, and Coffee Date stamp sets, Rounded Banner STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Luxe Love Letter inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Spring Moss and Lemon Tart cardstock, Aqua Mist patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Grass border punch (Fiskars); foam tape
