No Lion
The theme for this month's Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge is spring and Easter. My card for the challenge doesn't jump right out at you as either a spring or an Easter design, but let me explain. Remember the old proverb, "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb?" That's my thought process here about featuring a lion to represent spring. I think we can certainly all agree that March has been especially lion-like this year, can't we?
Anyway, my lion is from RC's Leaping Lions stamp set. I colored the lion and platform with Copic markers, then cut them out with the matching dies. They were adhered to a white circle using foam tape for dimension. The background for the image panel uses the three colors in the image--orange for the large panel and a wide red cardstock strip edged with aqua for an accent. I adhered the image panel over the red strip, then positioned the sentiment, stamped on an aqua banner strip cut with one of RC's Tag Me dies, so that it extended out from underneath the raised image. I accented the image with a trio of red enamel dots. The finished panel was adhered to a coordinating red card base.
Materials Used:
Leaping Lions stamp set, Iced Aqua cardstock, Leaping Lions and Tag Me dies (Reverse Confetti); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Poppy Parade cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Summer Sunrise cardstock (Papertrey Ink); circle dies (Spellbinders); enamel dots (Freckled Fawn); foam tape
