Caught a Bug?

Here's my card for the current challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches.  I used the layout to make a bug-themed get well card using Lawn Fawn's new A Bug Deal stamp set.

Caught a Bug card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn
I colored the branch, a bunch of leaves, and an assortment of bugs from the set using Copic markers, then cut out the colored images with my Scan 'n Cut machine.  The images were arranged on a light blue cardstock panel, using foam tape on the backs of the critters for dimension.  To fill in the scene, I die cut a pair of clouds from shimmery white cardstock using dies from the Plane and Simple die set and positioned them at the upper left corner of the image panel.  I matted the panel on green cardstock before adhering it on an angle to a green card base covered with a green gingham panel at the top and a pale green cardstock panel at the bottom.  A narrow strip of green cardstock matching the card base makes the transition between the two different panels.  I combined a pair of the set's sentiments--"caught a bug?" and "feel better"-- and stamped them on a darker green ink in the lower right corner of the light green cardstock panel to finish the design.

Materials Used:
A Bug Deal stamp set, Plane and Simple dies (Lawn Fawn); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Mossy ink (The Stamp Market); Spring Moss, Spring Rain, and Simply Chartreuse cardstock, Simply Chartreuse patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Crystal Stardream cardstock (The Paper Cut); foam tape

  2. This cute card is sure to bring a smile to the recipient's face! The placement of the branch is perfect - it pretty well follows the line between the two background panels, but the curve gives it additional interest. Awesome! Thanks for sharing your card with us at CC&S! :)
