Sending Hugs

Sending Hugs card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from SugarPea Designs
Here's my card for the current challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches.  The layout's mix of fun shapes was perfect for putting the focus on the cute mini envelope from the SugarPea Designs Special Delivery Accents die set.  I cut the envelope from white cardstock and filled in the heart-shaped negative space on the envelope's flap with contrasting red cardstock.  To set it off from the pale pink cardfront, I found a scrap of heart patterned paper to bring in another heart shaped element.  After edging it with a narrow strip of red cardstock, I placed it on the left side of the cardfront.  A red circle was tucked beneath the lower right corner of the patterned paper panel and the envelope was positioned on top to finish the cluster of elements.  For the sentiment, I stamped "sending hugs" from SPD's Everyday Sentiments stamp set in red ink to the right of the clustered elements to finish the design.

Materials Used:
Everyday Sentiments stamp set, Special Delivery Accents dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Lady Bug ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Pink Pirouette cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Red Punch cardstock (Recollections); Love Me 6x6 paper pad (My Mind's Eye); 1 1/4"circle punch (EK Success); foam tape
