Waddle I Do Without You?

Waddle I Do Without You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from SugarPea Designs
Here's my card for the current Mix it Up challenge at SugarPea Designs.  I combined the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo (color scheme, striped background) for this card featuring SPD's Quackers stamps and dies.

I colored up one of the set's cute duck images with Copic markers then cut out the colored image using the matching die.  To make a background for the duck, I cut a yellow half circle with a pinking circle die.  I added some blue cardstock at the bottom of the half-circle for water and a striped yellow piece above the blue strip for a sunny sky.  After I stamped the ripple images in dark er blue ink on the blue section of the panel, I used foam tape to set the duck image inside the ripples.  I adhered the half circle to the bottom of a gray and white striped patterned paper panel.  The panel was edged with darker gray cardstock strips, then adhered to a pale gray cardstock panel.  The set's "waddle I do without you?" sentiment was stamped just beneath the bottom of the striped panel.  The finished panel was adhered to an aqua card base to bring in a bit more of the blue color used for the water.

Materials Used:
Quackers stamp set, Quackers dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Tropical Teal ink (My Favorite Things); Soft Stone, Bright Buttercup, Smokey Shadow, and Hawaiian Shores cardstock, Soft Stone and Lemon Tart patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); circle and pinking circle dies (Spellbinders); foam tape
