Whale Hello, Baby

Here's my card for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I used the square layout to make a simple baby card featuring the whale from Reverse Confetti's Seaside stamp set. The whale was stamped in a soft blue-gray pigment ink.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I stamped over the spout of water above the whale's head with silver ink for a subtle sparkle.

Whale Hello, Baby card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti
The image was cut out with the matching die, then adhered to a blue panel with darker blue strips of "waves" at the bottom.  I made the waves by using two different sized circle punches to cut round notches into the strips for a wave-like look.  I combined sentiments from RC's Seaside and Simply Sentiments stamp sets to get the "whale hello, baby" sentiment that I stamped in blue ink in the panel's upper right corner. The panel was matted on gray cardstock and adhered to the center of a white cardstock panel over a strip of blue polka dotted washi tape.  The finished panel was adhered to a blue card base that matches the cardstock used for the waves.

Materials Used:
Seaside and Simply Sentiments stamp sets, Seaside dies (Reverse Confetti); Memento Bahama Blue and Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Winter pigment ink (Mama Elephant); Baja Breeze cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Weathervane cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Ocean cardstock (Recollections); circle punches (EK Success); washi tape; foam tape
