Color Throwdown 607-You Make My Life Brighter
It's time for another Color Throwdown! It's my turn to be the hostess this week and I've picked a color scheme inspired by some yummy fruity popsicles--purple, yellow, and blue.
I paired the colors with the current Mojo Monday sketch and the Giddy Bugs stamp set from Paper Smooches. This one also fits the current (and final) Paper Smooches "anything goes" challenge. My focal image is the set's firefly image. I colored up the image with Copic markers, then used the matching die to cut out the colored image. For the sentiment, I stamped the set's "you make my life brighter" sentiment on a navy blue panel in Versamark ink, then heat embossed the text with glow in the dark embossing powder. I thought the glow in the dark element was a perfect match for the firefly image! I covered a navy blue card base with a royal purple cardstock panel and a narrow strip of striped navy and white patterned paper. A narrow strip of navy cardstock helps to make the transition between the two panels. A contrasting yellow cardstock strip was adhered across the cardfront, then I added the image panel on top. I tucked a yellow gingham patterned paper panel beneath the image panel to add one final contrasting yellow element to the design to brighten it up.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using
these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project
using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color
matches, something close works just fine.
Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your
project. And, if you upload your project
to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD607.
If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the
hashtag #ctd607 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram and on
Facebook with the username colorthrowdown. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color
Throwdown team.
