Let's Toast to Your Birthday

Here's my card for the current Lawn Fawnatics color inspiration challenge.  The colors were perfect for a nighttime scene featuring images from Lawn Fawn's S'more the Merrier set from Ellen Hutson.

Let's Toast to Your Birthday card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn

I colored up a few of the set's images using Copic markers, then cut the colored images out with the matching dies.  My background was created by blending several different shades of distress oxides--blue, purple, and red--on a watercolor paper panel. The moon was made by placing a round sticky note on the panel and inking around it.  Once I removed the sticky note, I filled in the space with a mix of yellow distress inks.  I dribbled some water on the panel to add some interest to the sky--not too thrilled with how that turned out, but once I started, there was no turning back...

A torn strip of kraft cardstock was positioned at the bottom of the panel to ground the images, then the little scene was assembled on top using foam tape for dimension. For the sentiment, I stamped the set's "let's toast to your birthday" sentiment in navy blue ink above the cluster of critters.  The finished panel was adhered to a purple card base.

Materials Used:
S'more the Merrier stamps and dies (Lawn Fawn/Ellen Hutson); Delicata Silvery Shimmer, Memento Tuxedo Black and Nautical Blue inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Wilted Violet, Fired Brick, and Faded Jeans distress oxides, Mustard Seed and Scattered Straw distress inks (Ranger); markers (Copic); Amethyst Allure and Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); circle punch (EK Success); foam tape
