Here's my card for the current challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. Once I saw the layout's trio of hexagon-like elements, I couldn't get the idea of a bee out of my mind, so I ran with it.
My bee image is from the Paper Smooches Bee Mine stamp set. I colored the image with Copic markers, then used the matching die to cut out the colored image. The trio of hexagons were cut out from dark aqua cardstock and arranged on the right side of a lighter aqua card base. The bee was positioned on top of th elower two hexagons using foam tape for dimension. For a bit of sparkle, I added a light coating of glitter to the bee's wings and a clear crystal flourish "flight trail" extending out from the back of the bee. The set's "hello honey" sentiment was stamped beneath the bottom hexagon to finish the design.
Materials Used:
Bee Mine stamp set, Bee Mine Icons dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Ocean cardstock, clear self-adhesive crystal flourish (Recollections); Shapes: Hexagons dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); foam tape
