Sending You Warm Wishes

Sending You Warm Wishes card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things

Here's my card for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I used the layout for a wintery design using MFT's Winter Warmth stamps and dies.  I used the dies to cut a pair of mittens and a hat from red cardstock, then stamped the decorative stitching images on the die cuts with white pigment ink before heat embossing the stamping for a real pop against the red background. The images were adhered to a blue card base over a fun multicolored striped circle die cut.  Each of the images has a fun accent--the twist of kraft twine connecting the mitten duo and the white flocked pom pom at the top of the hat.  I cut a pair of slanted sentiment strips and positioned them at the bottom of the round die cut. The "sending you warm wishes" sentiment from the Deer Friends stamp set was stamped on the top slanted strip, again using white pigment ink and heat embossing for extra emphasis.

Materials Used:
Winter Warmth and Deer Friends stamp sets, Winter Warmth and Slanted Sentiment Strips (My Favorite Things); Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Red Punch cardstock, Snow embossing powder (Recollections); Baja Breeze and Blue Bayou cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Rustic Snowflakes patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); circle dies (Spellbinders); white flock (Stampendous); twine (Lawn Fawn); foam tape
