May the Little Things Bring You Joy

May the Little Things Bring You Joy

Here's my card for the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge.  I used several colors from the inspiration color scheme for this cute design featuring some of the cuties from Lawn Fawn's Mice on Ice set.

I colored the mice with Copic markers and cut them out using my Scan 'n Cut machine, then added a bit of white flock to their bellies for some texture.  To make a backdrop for the mice, I used the Stitched Pond die to cut an icy pond from shimmery white paper.  I used the set's stitched trail images to cut a trio of trails to go with the mice before adhering the shimmery panel to a watercolor paper panel colored with a mix of blue distress inks and water. The mice were added on top using foam tape for dimension. For the sentiment, I stamped the set's "may the little things bring you" text in white pigment ink on purple cardstock strips, then heat embossed the text in white for contrast.  I stamped just a portion of the "joyful" to get the word "joy."  After heat embossing the script, I carefully cut the word out by hand.  The three text pieces were adhered to the left side of the card, overlapping the shimmery pond.  A sprinkling of silver sequins completed the wintery design.

Materials Used:
