Floral Plus Geometric Elements

Thinking of You and How Special You Are card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Altenew
I'm still working on my skills with Altenew's beautiful layered floral stamps, so I played along with the  "Floral with Geometric Elements" theme of the current Altenew Educators blog hop to get in a little more practice.

This time I used the Build-a-Flower: Dahlia set for my floral element.  The layered flowers were stamped using Altenew's Rouge, Coral Bliss, and Velvet inks.  I used Olive and Moss to stamp the leafy accent elements.  The stamped pieces were cut out with the matching dies.  I somehow managed to lose the large dahlia die in the process!  Hopefully it will turn up, but it's been several days and there has yet to be a sighting...

For the geometric element, I used the Broken Chevrons stencil to create a background.  The chevron pattern was inked on a pale pink cardstock panel using Coral Bliss ink.  I added the flowers and leaves on top using foam tape for dimension. As an accent, I arranged a trio of pale pink sequins around the flowers. The set's "thinking of you and how special you are" sentiment was stamped beneath the smaller bloom in Velvet ink. The finished panel was adhered to a coordinating red card base.

Materials Used:
Build-a-Flower: Dahlia stamp set, Rouge, Coral Bliss, Velvet, Olive, Moss, and Permanent Black inks, Build-a-Flower : Dahlia dies, Broken Chevrons stencil (Altenew); Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); pink sequins; foam tape
