Here's my card for the current Mix It Up challenge at SugarPea Designs. I paired the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo (color scheme, gifts, holiday theme, and knit textures) for this simple, sweet holiday design.
My focal image is a combination of images from SPD's Hey Winter stamp set. I stamped the scarf image first, then masked it before adding the bear so that the bear was wearing the scarf. I also stamped up a trio of gift boxes. The images were colored with Copic markers then cut out with my Scan 'n Cut machine.
I adhered a strip of brown knit patterned cardstock, edged along one side with a strip of dark brown cardstock, to the right side of a kraft card base. A white rectangle matted with a contrasting red Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle die cut was tucked beneath the left side of the patterned paper strip. I added the images on top using foam tape for dimension. The set's "tis the season" sentiment was stamped on a narrow red cardstock strip and adhered to the patterned paper strip beneath the cluster of images to finish the card.
Materials Used:
Hey Winter stamp set, Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Early Espresso cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Red Punch cardstock (Recollections); designer paper (Lawn Fawn); foam tape
Love this...the sketch, the patterned paper, the colors...all perfect!
