Ugly Sweater Season

Ugly Sweater Season card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from The Cat's Pajamas

Here's my card for the current sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  I paired the sketch with the non-traditional holiday theme for this funny card.

My non-traditional element is an ugly holiday sweater, courtesy of the Grinch Season stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas.  I dressed the otherwise plain sweater up with a holly leaf and berries from the Bunny Christmas set before coloring the image up with Copic markers  The image was cut out by hand, then adhered to a white panel using foam tape for dimension.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I used red Liquid Pearls on the berries to add some texture to the image.  The panel was matted on red cardstock, then adhered to a red card base with a trio of festive patterned paper strips. So that the mixed patterns weren't too busy, I used papers from the same collection.  The ugly sweater themed sentiment from TCP's Bunny Christmas stamp set was stamped on a red fishtail flag strip and placed at the left side of the cardfront, overlapping the bottom left side of the image panel just a bit.

Materials Used:
Bunny Christmas and Grinch Season stamp sets (The Cat's Pajamas); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Red Punch cardstock (Recollections); North Pole 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Designs); Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Rpuge Pearl Liquid Pearls (Ranger); foam tape
