Halftone Thanks

Halftone Circle Thanks card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud
Here's my card for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I don't make many slimline cards, so these are really a challenge for me with all of the space to fill up...

I interpreted the sketch pretty literally using a trio of circles from Altenew's Halftone Circles stamp set.  The circles were stamped in three shades of blue then die cut with the matching dies.  I arranged them on the right side of a pale blue panel with a strip of turquoise cardstock across it for contrast and to ground the circles.  The largest circle was adhered directly to the panel and the smaller ones were adhered with foam tape for dimension. I thought about adding some enamel dots in either teal or white as an accent, but in the end, decided to keep the design super simple to contrast with the bold, graphic style of the stamped circles.

For the sentiment I stamped the "thanks" sentiment in the darkest blue ink and cut out the word with the matching die.  I used more foam tape to adhere the die cut word to the panel.  The "so very much" from the Leaf Canopy set was stamped beneath the die cut. The finished panel was adhered to a turquoise card base to match the strip across the panel.

Materials Used:
Halftone Circles and Leaf Canopy stamp sets, Galactic Stream, Teal Cave, and Turquoise Crisp Dye inks, Halftone Circles and Halftone Circles Nesting Dies (Altenew); Sno Cone cardstock (My Favorite Things); Tempting Turquoise cardstock (Stampin' Up!); foam tape

  2. I know what you mean by filling up all that space! But I've come to realize that some "white" space is OK on a slimline! I love how you've arranged your images - the circles are some of my faves and the sentiment is perfect on your horizontal layer. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!

  3. I love these beautiful shades of blue! And I love how the slim strip across the panel ties the circles and sentiment together. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
