The theme for the current My Favorite Things Birthday Project challenge is to create a wintery scene. I used MFT's Ready Set Snow stamp set to create a fun interactive winter themed birthday design.
My focal image and interactive element is the snowboarding polar bear from the Ready, Set, Snow stamp set. I colored him up with Copic markers before cutting the image out with my Scan 'n Cut machine. For the background, I used the Snowfall-Vertical die on a light blue cardstock panel. After inking the panel's edges with a coordinating shade of distress oxide, I backed it with a shimmery white cardstock panel to highlight the white flakes. To create the slope for the snowboarder, I used the one of the Hit the Slopes dies to cut a stitched edge panel from more shimmery white cardstock. The slope was placed at the bottom of the snowflake-filled panel. I used the channel die to cut a path for the snowboarder just above the snowy slope, then added the snowboarder with the slider element assembly behind him. I saved the cut out portion of the channel to place on the cardfront beneath the channel opening for a clean look. To tie in the green I used on the bear's scarf, I stamped the set's "happy brrrthday" sentiment on a Sour Apple fishtail flag strip and positioned the text on the snowbank. The panel and the die cut channel I saved earlier were adhered to a coordinating blue card base to complete the design.
