Sending Warm Wishes

Here's my card for the first Fusion challenge of the new year.  I paired the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo (cocoa theme, color scheme, and buffalo plaid pattern) for this simple design.

Sending Warm Wishes card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from WPlus9
The focal image is a cocoa mug from WPlus 9's Cookies & Cocoa stamp set.  I stamped the marshmallows first, then masked them before stamping the mug so it looks like the mug is topped with the marshmallows.  The image was colored with Copic markers before I cut it out by hand.  The Rae Dunn-style "cocoa" on the mug is a nod to the inspiration photo.  I selectively inked one of the set's sentiment stamps and used just the inked word to stamp on the colored mug.  The mug was adhered to a white panel over a strip of black and cream buffalo plaid patterned paper along the panel's left side.  For contrast I edged the patterned paper strip with a narrow strip of red cardstock.  I combined several stamps from the All the Cheer set for the "sending warm wishes" sentiment stamped at the lower right side of the panel.  The finished panel was adhered to a contrasting black card base.

Materials Used:
Cookies & Cocoa and All the Cheer stamp sets (WPlus9); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Riding Hood Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Christmas Plaids 6x6 paper pad (Recollections); foam tape
