Halftone Hello

Here's my take on this month's Altenew inspiration challenge. I took my cues from the shapes and the colors from the inspiration photo and used them to create a clean and simple design.

Halftone Hello card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Altenew

I used a mix of stamps from Altenew's Halftone Circles stamp set and three Crisp inks to stamp an array of circles on a white panel. It took a few tries to get an arrangement that looked balanced.  Once I was happy with the arrangement, I stamped the set's "hello" sentiment in white pigment ink on navy cardstock and heat embossed the text in white for a nice pop against the dark background. After embossing the text, I used the matching die to cut out the word and adhered it to the stamped panel using foam tape. The "friend" from one of the sentiments in the Sentiment Strips 2 set was stamped in white and heat embossed, too. I trimmed it closely and positioned it just beneath the die cut word. The finished panel was adhered to a coordinating green card base.

Materials Used:
Halftone Circles and Sentiment Strips 2 stamp sets, Bamboo, Starlight, and Rubellite Crisp inks, Halftone Circles die set (Altenew); Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Kiwi Kiss cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Navy cardstock, Snow embossing powder (Recollections); foam tape
